Some had great graphics but froze, some just froze…all of the time. These video games were some of the most hotly anticipated games around, however they bombed so badly that their developers are hesitant to discuss them. Here are the Top 7 Worst Video Games Ever.

E.T., The Extra Terrestrial (1982)

In an attention to cash in on the smash 80’s hit, the rushed game bombed in Christmas of 1982. This game also played a huge part of the video game crash in 1983.

Hotel Mario (1994)

This is one of the few games that Nintendo did with Phillips with disatrous effect. This game was a full motion video game that with the controllers, failed to work.

Shaq Fu (1994)

This 2D fighting game about Shaq being transported to another dimension to punch people was “probably one of the worst games in EA history.” according producer Sandy Sandoval.

Sonic: The Hedgehog (2006)

Despite Sega’s Shun Nakamura’s involvement, this effort of bringing back the beloved Hedgehog was filled with glitches and long load times.

Rise of the Robots (1994)

This game was a 3-D Nightmare, the characters couldn’t turn, the fighters had one move. Disappointment wasn’t even the word with this game. However, the Brian May soundtrack is pretty badass.

Superman 64 (1999)

This release for the N64 was a mess due in part to the game producer stating that the developers weren’t allow to use all of the Man of Steel powers because of licensing restrictions. Superman in this game flies through rings and goes through a maze. Sigh.
